Manage Lessons — to create and manage learning paths in Settings > E-Learning Settings
A learning path lets you bundle several lessons into an ordered sequence. Use them for onboarding programmes, role-specific training, or compliance curricula where lessons need to be completed in a set order.
Before you start
You need at least two active lessons before you can create a learning path. If you don't have those yet, see How do I create a lesson?.
Step 1: Open the learning path builder
Go to Settings > E-Learning Settings, then select the Learning path builder tab.
This shows any existing learning paths along with their status and lesson count.
Step 2: Create a new learning path
Click New learning path.
In the modal, enter:
Name — a clear title learners will recognise
Description (optional) — extra context for the path
Step 3: Add lessons in order
Use the Select lesson to add picker to add lessons one at a time. The order you add them is the order learners must complete them in.
A few rules to keep in mind:
Learners must complete each lesson before the next unlocks
They cannot skip ahead
Lessons that have a pass mark configured will be re-assigned automatically if a learner fails them
Step 4: Save the learning path
Click Save to create the learning path. It appears in the Learning path builder list, set to Active by default.
Step 5: Assign the learning path
Learning paths are assigned to individual users from their profile or via the actions area.
Open the user's profile or create a learning action for them
Choose the learning path you want to assign
Confirm the assignment
When you assign the path:
The learner is notified about the first lesson
Only the first lesson is immediately accessible
Each subsequent lesson unlocks once the previous one is passed
Managing existing learning paths
From the Learning path builder tab you can:
Action | Description |
View lessons | Click the lesson count to see which lessons the path contains |
Toggle status | Switch between Active and Inactive |
Delete | Remove a learning path that has never been assigned |
Status meanings
Active — can be assigned to learners
Inactive — cannot be assigned, but existing assignments continue
Inactive (locked) — the path contains an archived lesson and cannot be reactivated
If a lesson inside a path is archived, the whole path becomes inactive and locked. Replace or rebuild the path if you need to keep it running.
