Required Permissions:

  • Edit SmartView Custom Dashboards (reporting.smartview.edit) — to build and manage personalised dashboards and widgets

Building the Dashboard Grid

To create a dashboard you first need to generate the empty dashboard grid. This blank grid will be the home for all the widgets that will make up your final custom dashboard.

Initially you can just see the default evaluagent dashboard.

  • Click the '+' icon in the top right of the screen to begin creating your own SmartView Custom Dashboard.

  • You will see the 'create new dashboard' modal

  • Give your dashboard a suitable name that best describes it for you. The name must be unique if you have multiple dashboards (more about that later).

  • Click the 'Create' button to build the grid

  • You can save your custom dashboard grid now by clicking on the 'Save' button and then return to editing it at a later time or you can start adding widgets to it immediately

  • Building and creating widgets is covered in the following guide: SmartView Custom Dashboards: Creating & Managing Widgets

Adding Another Dashboard

Once you have created your first dashboard, you can add further dashboards that will appear as tabs alongside your original creation.

  • To add further dashboards, simply click on the '+' icon in the top right of the screen again to start the creation of your next dashboard

Managing Dashboards

Once you have created your dashboard grids you can make changes to them at any time by clicking on the 'Cog' icon in the top right of your screen to allow you to manage your dashboards.

This opens a slide out to give you access to controls to

  • rename your dashboard

  • change the order they appear

  • or delete a dashboard.

Renaming

To rename your dashboard:

  • Click on the hamburger menu to the right of the dashboard name you wish to change

  • Select rename from the drop down menu

  • Enter the new name for your dashboard

  • Click 'Save' to apply the change

Note: The name you give your dashboard must be unique across the other dashboards you have created otherwise a duplicate name error will be shown

Re-ordering

To change the order that your dashboards display:

  • With your mouse, select and hold the name of the dashboard you want to re-order

  • Drag it to its new position in the list and release

  • Click 'Save' to apply the change

NOTE: the dashboard at the top of the list will always be the default dashboard than opens when you login to the evaluagent platform

Deleting

To delete your one of your dashboards:

  • Click on the hamburger menu to the right of the dashboard name you wish to change

  • Select delete from the drop down menu

  • Confirm you wish to delete the dashboard by clicking the 'Delete' button

Using a large screen with your dashboard

You can use your selected dashboard with a large screen or TV.

  • Click the 'Full Screen' button to hide all the unrequired screen elements and display your dashboard on a large monitor or TV screen.

  • Click the 'Exit full screen' button to return to the standard view

Using the SmartView Filters Sidebar

The SmartView Filters sidebar lets you save defaults that apply across every widget on the active dashboard, including:

  • Include Inactive Groups — when on, widget counts include data tied to groups that are no longer active. When off, that data is excluded.

  • Global reporting period — overrides every widget's own date range. Leave as 'Per-widget reporting period' to keep each widget's setting.

  • Global reporting level — overrides every widget's reporting level. Leave as 'Per-widget reporting level' to keep each widget's setting.

Each control is optional — set only the ones you want to override globally and leave the rest as per-widget.

To use the sidebar:

  • Click 'SmartView Filters' in the dashboard action bar to open the sidebar

  • Choose your filters

  • Click 'Save' to apply your selections — they will persist across dashboard switches and across logins

  • Applied filters appear as pills above the dashboard. Click any pill to reopen the sidebar.

  • Click 'Reset' to clear saved defaults and return every widget to its own filters

  • Closing the sidebar without saving rolls back any unsaved edits

You can still edit individual widgets while global filters are applied. Some widget edits may not be visible until the global filters are removed.

Notifications

When you save, copy, delete, or share a dashboard — or save changes to a widget — SmartView confirms with a top-right toast that auto-dismisses. Errors appear in the same place. Hover over a toast to pause its dismissal timer.

Classic master filter (legacy)

If your contract doesn't have the SmartView materialised feature, the older 'Dashboard Filters' button opens a temporary master filter for the active dashboard. These filters revert when you navigate away, refresh the screen, log off, or click 'Revert' — treat them as temporary views of your data rather than saved defaults.
